The Serpent Monks is an alias for the Crimson Coil, one of the Chaos Cults of Ptolus.  The group has ties to Ptolus, and to the attack on Raelen's caravan years ago.

The name Serpent Monks is not the group's real name; it was simply what a young man making a map labeled an old enclave of theirs.
